Chapter 5: The Parable of the Medicinal Herbs - Chương 5: Phẩm Dược Thảo Dụ. 

The rain from the monsoon cloud (megha) falls equally on grasses, shrubs, and trees, and they grow to their respective heights. Just so, the monsoon cloud of Buddhist teachings (dharma-megha) is offered impartially to all beings, and they receive it and grow, according to their various capacities.

Cơn mưa từ các đám mây mưa (Megha) rơi đều trên cỏ, cây bụi, và cây, và chúng phát triển chiều cao tương ứng của họ. Chỉ cần như vậy, đám mây gió mùa của giáo lý Phật giáo (dharma-Megha) được phục vụ một cách công bằng cho tất cả chúng sinh, và họ nhận được nó và phát triển, tuỳ theo khả năng khác nhau của họ.

"Kashyapa, it is like the plants and trees, thickets and groves, and the medicinal herbs, widely ranging in variety, each with its own name and hue, that grow in the hills and streams, the valleys and different soils of the thousand-million fold world.

Ca-Diếp, nó giống như cây cối, bụi và rừng, và các loại thảo dược, dao động rộng rãi trong nhiều loại, mỗi loại có tên riêng của nó và màu sắc, mọc trên những ngọn đồi, suối, các thung lũng và đất khác nhau của cõi tam-thiên đại-thiên.

Dense clouds spread over them, covering the entire thousand-million fold world and in one moment saturating it all. The moisture penetrates to all the plants, trees, thickets and groves, and medicinal herbs equally, to their big roots, big stems, big limbs and big leaves. Each of the trees, big and small, depending upon whether it is superior, middling or inferior in nature, receives its allotment.

Những đám mây dày đặc lan qua chúng, bao gồm toàn bộ thế giới ngàn triệu lần và trong một khoảnh khắc triệu lần thế giới. Bão hòa tất cả. Độ ẩm thâm nhập vào tất cả các loài thảo mộc, cây cối, bụi và rừng, và dược liệu như nhau, đến rễ, thân, cành và lá. Mỗi cây, lớn và nhỏ, tùy thuộc vào việc nó là cao, vừa hoặc thấp trong tự nhiên, nhận được phần nước của mình.

The rain falling from one blanket of clouds accords with each particular species and nature, causing it to sprout and mature, to blossom and bear fruit. Though all these plants and trees grow in the same earth and moistened by the same rain, each has its differences and particulars.

Những hạt nước mưa rơi xuống từ một tấm chăn mây thuận với từng loài cụ thể và thiên nhiên, là căn nguyên cho chúng nó mọc lên và trưởng thành, để nở hoa và kết trái. Mặc dù tất cả các loại cây cùng trồng trong đất và làm ẩm bởi cùng một cơn mưa, mỗi loài có sự khác biệt và đặc thù riêng của nó.
