Sozan, a Chinese Zen master, was asked by a student: “What is the most valuable thing in the world?”
Một thiền tăng thưa hỏi thiền sư Sơ Sơn (Trung Hoa) rằng: “Trên thế gian này vật gì quý giá nhất?”
The master replied: “The head of a dead cat.”
Thiền sư trả lời: “Cái đầu mèo chết.”
“Why is the head of a dead cat the most valuable thing in the world?” inquired the student.
Thiền tăng thắc mắc: “Vì sao cái đầu mèo chết lại quý giá nhất thế gian?”
Sozan replied: “Because no one can name its price.”
Thiền sư đáp: “Vì không ai có thể nêu giá được.”
