Suddhodana sent for his son, and the Buddha went at once to Kapilavatthu to his father. At first the king began to speak angrily to the Buddha, but when the Buddha told him the glad news, which had won the hearts of so many, the king was ashamed and begged to be allowed to become his follower as well. So the Lord Buddha had the happiness of receiving his aged father into the Sangha. Tịnh Phạn cho triệu con mình, Ðức Phật liền đến thành Ca-tỳ-la-vệ và diện kiến phụ hoàng. Lúc đầu quốc vương tỏ vẻ bực tức nói với Phật, nhưng khi Phật báo tin mừng cho ngài, những thiện pháp đã thu phục biết bao trái tim của con người, thì quốc vương lấy làm hổ thẹn và cũng xin được phép làm môn đệ Ngài. Ðức Phật hoan hỷ nhận phụ hoàng của mình vào đoàn thể Tăng già....

As soon as he became enlightened, he thought with love and pity of those five poor men, torturing themselves all to no purpose, and he resolved to go to them immediately and tell them of his discovery. On his way he met two merchants, who, when they saw the Buddha's shining face, knew that he was a great Teacher and bowed before him, offering food. These became his first followers. Ngay sau khi giác ngộ, với lòng xót thương lân mẫn, Ngài liền nghĩ đến năm huynh đệ tội nghiệp kia, tự hành hạ mình một cách vô lối. Ngài quyết tâm đến gặp họ ngay và nói cho họ biết về sự khám phá của mình. Trên đường, Ngài gặp hai thương gia, và khi nhìn thấy khuôn mặt sáng ngời của Phật, họ biết Ngài là một Ðạo sư vĩ đại. Họ quì gối đảnh lễ và dâng thức ăn cho Ngài. Hai người này trở thành môn đồ đầu tiên của Ngài....
