In Buddhism, there are 3 refuges that together can provide protection from the three types of dangers: from anxiety, frustration, sorrow and distress in the present life. They are: the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. They are not separate refuges, each sufficient in itself but inter-related members of a single effective refuge. Trong Phật giáo, có 3 nơi nương tựa cùng lúc mang lại sự bảo vệ cho con người tránh được ba loại hiểm họa từ sự lo lắng, thất vọng, nỗi buồn và đau khổ trong cuộc sống hiện tại. Đó là: Đức Phật, giáo pháp của Phật (Dharma) và Tăng Đoàn. Còn gọi là “Phật, Pháp, Tăng”. Những nơi nương tựa này - không phải là ba nơi nương tựa riêng lẻ, mà cả ba liên quan với nhau, thành một nơi nương tựa có hiệu quả....

Này các Tỳ-khưu, người nói Pháp không tranh luận bất cứ với một ai ở đời....

The word Nirvana comes from the root meaning 'to blow out' and refers to the extinguishing of the fires of greed, hatred and delusion. When these emotional and psychological defilements are destroyed by wisdom, the mind becomes free, radiant and joyful and at death one is no longer subject to rebirth. Từ ngữ Niết Bàn xuất phát từ nguồn có ý nghĩa là "Dập tắt ngọn lửa", để nói đến việc dập tắt đi những ngọn lửa tham lam, sân hận, và si mê (tham sân si). Khi những phiền não về tình cảm, và tâm lý bị phá hủy đi bởi trí tuệ, tâm chúng ta trở nên tự do, tươi sáng, và vui vẻ, rồi khi chết đi, chúng ta sẽ không còn bị tái sinh....
